The Great Wall at Sunrise

Well,we've been busy bees! We trekked 7 miles of the Great Wall the other day which was fantastic but very cold! However, it didn't put us off and we got up in the early hours of the following day to watch the sun rise on the Great Wall, it was just magical.

We then took a 14 hour train journey from Beijing to Xi-an which Nic thought was fantastic- the best night's sleep so far!! We like Xi-an a lot more than Beijing. We've visited the terracota warriers and cycled along the ancient city walls on a tandem. We also went out last night with our group and ended up doing karaoke! It's a lot different to karaoke at the local boozer in England but just as much fun, though we both woke up with sore throats this morning.

Anyway, all for now. We're off to do a spot of shopping before catching the next train to Shanghai.....

Sounds fabulous. Glad to hear you haven't been deported after David's singing! Dave says "David, if you can throw yer pants at the wall and they don't stick, they are good for another day!". It is getting colder here you will be pleased to know. Have sent your itinerary to Nana and Grandad and ring them when I hear from you. Have fun in Shanghai, look forward to hearing from you. Love from Mum, Dave, Franki, Bomber, Tuppence and many others who know what you're up to x x x x x

Hi Guys
Great to hear that you are enjoying yourselves, it sounds brilliant and we are all very jealous of what you both are experiencing.
I’m looking at Google Earth and Shanghai and trying to visualize where you both are? Apparently, Shanghai is the 2nd largest city in China whose claim to fame is that it has the biggest market in the World!
Watch the bird flu though!
Anyway, enough of the history lesson, (I just made that bit up about the market, sounds good though!!) enjoy yourselves and hope to talk to you soon.
Only 33 days to go before we leave for Bali and only 53 days until we see you both in Sydney.
Can’t wait.
Love
Dad, Lorraine, Mark, Kristi and Jodie.
